Ministries for Everyone

What do we mean when we say ministries? Simply put, it's the things we do to serve (and be served) in the name of the Lord.

Some of our regular activities and special events are just for adults, while many are for the entire family. Others are specifically planned for children, teenagers, or seniors. Please read on for more information.

Len Schmautz of the Keenagers. The 55+ folks at Lifeway Chapel call themselves the Keenagers, and they meet about once a month, usually in someone's home. They really seem to know how to enjoy their fellowship, with fun, games, videos, backyard barbecues, special events, senior retreats, and even a few sightseeing trips.

The Lifeway Chapel Keenagers also have their own monthly newsletter, New Horizons. The six-page newsletter includes humor, inspiring articles, and a listing of birthdays and anniversaries to help everyone keep in touch.

Contact the church to discover when the Keenagers will next gather, or talk to the Keenagers leader, Pastor Len Schmautz.

Activities for Men

Men's Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. every second Saturday of the month
Men's Special Events: Contact the church.

The adult men of Lifeway Chapel meet once a month for breakfast and fellowship, usually at Perkins.

During the get-togethers, the men share a devotional and make plans for special activities, such as their annual fishing trip, work projects, wild game feeds, and "Shootfest" (when they head for the hills to shoot skeet and other targets).

Through these normal and enjoyable activities, the men of Lifeway Chapel are able to deepen their friendships and grow closer to the Lord at the same time.

Contact the church to discover when the men will next gather, or for more information.

The adult women of Lifeway Chapel get together at church at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday evening of each month for what they call Joy Fellowship.

The ladies enjoy worshipping together and encouraging each other, all the while planning service projects and ways to reach out to other women with God's love.

Joy Fellowship leader, Linda Ells, says:

When seeking God, it helps to have other Christian believers who will pray for you. Having a "sister in Christ" is a wonderful gift from God.

The ladies also find that doing service in the name of Jesus draws them closer to the Lord and helps them in their day-to-day lives.

They sponsor fundraisers for church improvements and also the popular "Annual Ladies Tea," which features traditional high tea fare, door prizes, and a guest speaker.

Adult women of all ages are invited to attend Joy Fellowship meetings... the more the merrier!

Contact the church or talk to Linda Ells to discover when the women will next gather.

For most teenagers, it's important to belong and have friends, and there's no better place to do that than among other believing youth in a safe, welcoming, and fun environment.

When asked what she liked about the Youth Group meetings, one girl said:

I enjoy hanging out with my "family" and getting renewed by God!

Led by Youth Pastor Cheyenne McElderry, the youth of Lifeway Chapel meet every Wednesday. They play lots of games and study the Bible.

Along with their regular meetings, the youth are on the go with many special events, including sleep-overs and camping trips.

Contact the church or see our schedule of weekly services and classes to discover when the Youth Group will meet next, or contact Pastor Cheyenne at the church for more information.

Activities for Children

Nursery & Children's Church: Sunday mornings 11:45 a.m.
Nursery & Activities for All Children: 7:00 p.m. every Wednesday evening

Nursery | Preschoolers | Children

At first glance, it might seem that the children's ministry at Lifeway Chapel is all about "fun," but having fun doesn't mean we leave out the gospel message--it just means that we enjoy the time we spend together while sharing the truth of God's Word.

Those serving in the children's ministry come from every age group: from teenagers to Keenagers, even some of the older children are involved. They all love children and have a desire to see them committing their lives to the Lord. (Besides, singing and cheering and playing with the kids has a way of making everyone feel a little younger!)

In addition to our regular weekly services and activities for children, Lifeway Chapel also offers various special events throughout the year, such as Vacation Bible School (VBS) and occasional outings like ice skating and Christmas decoration tours.

Nursery (age 0-3)

Nursery is available on Sunday mornings at 11:45 a.m. (All children stay in the sanctuary with the adults during worship and singing.)

Nursery is also available at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
